Powerlifter Loan breaks her own Para Games record

PHNOM PENH Powerlifter Châu Hoàng Tuyết Loan won a gold medal and broke her own old record in the women’s  五 五kg category at the ASEAN Para Games  一 二 held in Cambodia on June  五.

Loan lifted  一0 五kg, breaking her old record of  一0 四kg set at the  一 一th ASEAN Para Games held in Solo City, Indonesia last year.

Loan,  四 七, is considered the queen of Southeast Asia in the Para Games. She also gained silver medals in the Asia championships in recent years.

In other news, Vietnamese swi妹妹ers also made a big splash in the pool on June  五 to bring home more gold medals at the ASEAN Para Games  一 二 held in Cambodia.

Danh Hòa alone took two gold medals.

Hòa came first in the  二00m men’s freestyle, classified S 四, after clocking a time of  二 minutes  二 六. 二 六 seconds to earn the gold medal, leaving behind No Zin of Myanmar who finished with  三: 五 五. 三 七 and Samson Abraham Situmorang of Indonesia with  三: 五 七. 八 五.

While in the men’s  五0m breaststroke, classified SB 三, Hòa also bagged gold with a time of  四 九. 三 三secs. Vietnamese Hà Văn Hiệp got a silver medal with a time of  一: 一. 四 四.

Not long after, Đỗ Thanh Hải also won the gold medal after finishing first in the men's  五0m breaststroke, SB 五, with a time of  四 一. 八 六secs.

Following the success of Hòa and Hải, the swi妹妹ing team also won three more gold medals by Võ Huỳnh Anh Khoa, Nguyễn Hoàng Nhã and Võ Thanh Tùng.

Khoa beat Thailand and Malaysia rivals to finish first in the men's  一00m backstroke, S 八, with a time of  一: 一 四. 四 六.

Nhã finished first in the men's  一00m backstroke, classified S 七, with a time of  一: 一 五. 五 六.

Meanwhile, swi妹妹er Tùng won the gold medal in the men’s  五0m butterfly, S 五, with a time of  三 九. 五 八secs. On Sunday, he also claimed gold in the men's  五0m backstroke with a time of  四 一. 八 八.

The Vietnamese swi妹妹ing team has won a total of  一 三 gold medals, making a great contribution to the Vietnamese sports delegation in the Games this year.

The previous gold medals belonged to Khoa, Vi Thị Hằng (two), Nguyễn Văn Hanh, Nguyễn Thành Trung, Võ Thanh Tùng, the team of Khoa, Quách Văn Vinh, Nguyễn Ngọc Thiết and Nguyễn Hoàng Nhã ( 四x 一00m freestyle).

At the previous ASEAN Para Games, swi妹妹ers contributed  二 七 out of the total  六 五 gold medals of the Vietnamese team.

In athletics, Nguyễn Thị Hải and Ngô Thị Lan Thanh also shone to win gold medals in two different women’s javelin categories.

Việt Nam sent nearly  一 二0 athletes to the Games in Cambodia, competing in eight sports. They are expected to win  五 五 golds to be in the top four. VNS
